Children & Families Development Worker

Callum Ross

I’m Callum and I’ve been the Children’s and Families worker for the parish for 7 years and I’m its resident big kid. I spent most of my childhood in the parish and I’m so happy to be back serving the community I grew up in. I’m a theology graduate from the university of Aberdeen, and worked previously in Oil and Gas and Healthcare recruitment.  I can usually be spotted with a travel mug of coffee glued to my left hand.

On a Sunday morning I lead up our Sunday School programmes. I also help to lead the all age sections of our services, where I try to bring in a mix of science, magic, and jokes to bring the bible stories to life for kids of all ages! During the week a large focus is put on serving our local schools as a chaplain. Throughout the year we have a focus on using the biblical narrative to help the children think about who they are, what they are doing, and the world they live in. I am passionate about mental health and through events like prayer spaces kids are equipped to deal with situations they might face as they go through life. We are currently gearing up to launch our new family service so watch this space for more information about that exciting venture coming in 2026!

Away from work I can be found in my adopted hometown of Stonehaven, where I live with my wife, two boys, and our golden retriever. I’m a massive cricket and rugby fan, and a long suffering Aberdeen and Liverpool supporter.  Other interests of mine are astronomy and tabletop games so be sure to ask me about them if you want to lose an hour or more from your day!

Session Clerk

Chris Pinnell

My name is Chris Pinnell, and I’m the Session Clerk at Kingshill, helping to manage church business, support the ministry team, and lead activities with the elders. I’m retired after a 34-year career in local government and Scottish Water, where I was Treatment Manager for Grampian’s waste water works. Joyce and I have been married for forty years, with two grown children—a palliative care doctor and a police detective. I’ve been a member of Skene Church since 2000, where I’ve helped lead Sunday School, junior Bible class, and set up the P7–S3 'GRID'. I was ordained as an elder in Fraserburgh in 1997 and have been active in church life since my youth in Falkirk.

Beyond church, I’m a committed Rotarian. We work jointly with the church, run school quizzes, and support special needs kids' events. The Rotarian motto “Service before Self” seems to sum up our lives! My main hobby and often called my new full-time job, is managing Scouting locally. As the Group Scout Leader, I am in charge of 180 young people, helping to prepare them with 'skills for life'. Joyce and I enjoy travelling, especially cruising and caravanning, and look forward to many more adventures in the future.

Church Secretary

Eva WIll

My name is Eva Will and I am Church Secretary at Kingshill. I was born in Aberdeen but have lived in Westhill since I married my late husband in 1985. I have two grown up children: our son lives in Orkney where he is a dentist and our daughter is a Speech and Language Therapist in Aberdeen. I have two young grandchildren who I see regularly. Now retired, I worked for over 38 years as an Orthoptist for NHS Grampian, working in Eye Clinics across the North East and the Northern Isles, treating eye muscle problems like squints, double vision and associated visual problems. I lived in Yorkshire for three years while training in Sheffield and Leeds but was fortunate to find work back home when I qualified. While working I trained many Orthoptic Students, Opticians, Nurses and Doctors in my role as a Clinical Educator.

I grew up in Holburn West Church in Aberdeen where I was a member of the choir and served on the Congregational Board. I have always been passionate about worship music and enjoy singing in our choir and Worship Group. Since moving to Westhill, I have also been involved with Sunday School, Youth Group, Messy Church, Bible Study and was ordained as a Church Elder in 1999. I'm also a Presbytery Safeguarding Trainer . I enjoy knitting, crocheting, sewing, and am an active member of the Scouts, having been a Beaver Scout Leader since 1983 and also train other leaders in the North East Region. Over the years, I've attended many International camps and enjoy keeping up with fellow scouters from all over the world. I'm also a member of Singing Hands BSL signing choir.
